"Koepke's Calves" - print
From the Artist: Koepke Farms, a dairy in Southern Wisconsin recognized for its record-breaking milk production, provided the subject matter for this painting. The Holstein calves have their own barn for shelter as they grow and transition into young ladies and eventually moms themselves. By slowly chewing the wood surrounding the water tank access hole , the mischievous residents had created an escape route. Hence, the wooden boards nailed to the wall for a temporary restraint. This painting inspired the Ritchie Waterers company to place several of my paintings on their product magazine covers.
